CrossTec Corporation has released version 10 of its CrossTec Remote Control™ software. The upgrade, which boasts beta compatibility with the upcoming Windows™ Vista platform, contains key enhancements for connecting to users over the Internet, added security and new options for managing user lists and information. Besides support for Windows™ Vista, CrossTec Remote v10 has added features for Linux, Mac and CE platforms.
Key new and enhanced features:
> New User Interface - CrossTec Remote Control v10, features a new "Vista" style interface
> New Auto Group list views - Client lists can be automatically sorted and grouped by a range of criteria
> Enhanced Thumbnails - Monitor mode thumbnails now offer greater clarity
> New Group Hierarchy - Allows all known clients to be organized and structured into a single tree view.
> Enhanced Show mode - Operator can Show their entire screen, a selected Monitor or selected application
> Enhanced Chat - Version 10 now supports dynamic hyperlinks within chat sessions.
> File Transfer - Faster file transfers and now it supports files over 4Gb.
> Remote Update - Existing CrossTec Operator to remotely update connected clients to the latest version
> Windows Vista - CrossTec Remote v10 now offers support for Windows Vista.
Connectivity / Gateway:
> Gateway Redundancy - Allows the client and controls to specify a secondary gateway as an option.
> New Gateway Access Control - The gateway administrator can restrict remote control access to specified users for added security.
> CMPI Override - Override CMPI interval at client.
> Support for multiple/specific IP interfaces to listen on - The administrator can now specify a list of IP address/ports that the gateway will listen for connections from clients and control for added security.
> Enhanced logging of gateway connections.
> Enhanced Audio - Audio performance over http gateway connections has been improved.
> CrossTec Remote Control v10 has added new features for CE, Mac and Linux
